Bird & Wild Coffee Celebrates £100,000 Donated to the RSPB to Help Protect Birds and Wildlife

We've reached an exciting conservation milestone: Bird & Wild Coffee has now donated £101,255.57 to the RSPB, helping support the protection of birds, wildlife and the natural habitats they depend on.

October 2026 | Bird & Wild Coffee, UK

At Bird & Wild, we've always believed that a great cup of coffee can do more than simply taste good. It can also help make a positive difference to the natural world.

That's why we're delighted to announce that our cumulative donations to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) have reached £101,255.57 as of October 2026.

This milestone has been made possible by our customers, who continue to choose coffee that combines exceptional taste with meaningful environmental and ethical commitments.

How Bird & Wild Supports the RSPB

Bird & Wild has maintained a conservation partnership with the RSPB since 2017.

Our commitment is simple: with every bag sold, we help support the RSPB charity's vital work protecting birds, wildlife and nature.

Every purchase of Bird & Wild coffee contributes to this ongoing commitment, whether you choose whole coffee beans, ground coffee, instant coffee, decaffeinated coffee or convenient coffee bags.

Reaching £100,000 in donations is a significant milestone, but our commitment to supporting the RSPB continues.

What the RSPB Says About Our Partnership

The RSPB has welcomed this achievement and recognised the value of our long-term relationship.

Rupert Waters, Licensing Manager at the RSPB, commented:

“We couldn’t be more pleased to celebrate the £100,000 donation milestone with Bird and Wild who have been an RSPB partner since 2017.”

He also highlighted the importance of long-term business partnerships in supporting conservation, alongside the growing role of consumer choices in helping protect nature.

We're proud to work with one of the UK's leading wildlife conservation charities and look forward to continuing our partnership for many years to come.

More Than Donations: Coffee That Helps Protect Forest Habitats

Our environmental commitment goes beyond charitable giving.

All Bird & Wild coffee is certified Smithsonian Bird Friendly®, Organic and Fairtrade.

Smithsonian Bird Friendly certification was developed by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and is widely recognised for its rigorous environmental standards.

Unlike conventional sun-grown coffee plantations, Bird Friendly coffee is grown beneath a diverse canopy of shade trees.

These shade-grown coffee farms help preserve forest-like habitats that provide shelter and food for migratory birds, insects and other wildlife.

Bird Friendly certification also requires organic growing practices, helping protect soil health and reduce reliance on synthetic pesticides.

By choosing Bird & Wild, customers can support both wildlife conservation in the UK through our RSPB donations and more environmentally responsible coffee farming in coffee-producing countries.

Fairtrade, Organic and Smithsonian Bird Friendly Coffee

Our three certifications reflect different but complementary commitments.

Smithsonian Bird Friendly®: Supports coffee farming practices that conserve shade-tree cover and biodiversity, helping protect habitats for birds and other wildlife.

Organic: Requires farming without prohibited synthetic pesticides and fertilisers, supporting environmentally responsible agricultural practices.

Fairtrade: Promotes fairer trading conditions and supports coffee-growing communities through established social and economic standards.

Together, these certifications help make Bird & Wild a distinctive choice for coffee lovers who care about people, wildlife and the environment.

Recognised as One of the UK's Most Ethical Coffee Brands

We're also proud that Bird & Wild's environmental and ethical commitments have received independent recognition.

  • Ethical Consumer: Ranked No. 1 Ethical Coffee for four consecutive years.

  • The Good Shopping Guide 2025: Awarded a perfect ethical rating of 100/100, together with its Ethical Innovator distinction.

  • Soil Association BOOM Awards 2025: Highly Commended in the Coffee category.

These achievements recognise our continuing efforts to combine quality coffee with high environmental and ethical standards.

A Thank You to Our Customers

Clara Malmros-Mitromaras of Bird & Wild Coffee said:

“Reaching £100,000 in donations to the RSPB is a very proud moment for us.”

She added:

“Reaching £100,000 is an important milestone, but it certainly isn't the finish line. We're incredibly grateful to our customers, who have made these donations possible, and we look forward to supporting the RSPB for many years to come.”

We couldn't agree more.

Every bag, tin or box of Bird & Wild coffee purchased has helped us reach this milestone.
