For every bag of Bird & Wild sold, you are helping the RSPB, the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Centre & the Fairtrade Foundation.
Working in partnership with the RSPB, 6% of sales is donated to the RSPB to help give nature a home, as well as being certified Fairtrade and Organic.
Bird & Wild only roast seasonal coffee certified as Bird Friendly & Shade-Grown by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Centre & contributes to supporting their research and conservation programs.
Our coffees are naturally grown under the rainforest canopy, a haven for birds and other wildlife & ideal conditions for nurturing deliciously different beans with a taste of the wild.
In the shade of tropical highland agroforestry systems, where the coffee shrubs grow beneath a diverse canopy of shade trees, coffee is allowed to develop complex, distinctive and smooth flavours.
Bird Friendly Certified coffees are grown on forest farms that protect the diverse tree canopy, providing a haven to threatened migratory birds, insects and other wildlife.
Coffee Preparation
Use fresh water for boiling. Once boiled, let the kettle cool for a few minutes, since boiling water burns the coffee. It is always best to put too much coffee in than too little. You can always dilute the coffee if it is too strong. A rough guide is 12 grams of coffee for every 180ml of water.
Coffee Storage
Keep your coffee in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place. It is that simple. Preferably use within 3 weeks.

Delicious coffee & supporting wildlife , what could be better!
I make my coffee in an enamel pot on the stove-top. First I grind, then I cook over a low heat, then I drink! I feel great about drinking Bird and Wild coffee beans, because they’re shade-grown, organic, and give back to the environment through the protection of birds. I believe that Bird and Wild are a really ethical company, and their coffee tastes absolutely great!
Great coffee for those of who love the dark roasts in life. Worth trying it in a range of brewing methods, aero press the smoothest but great in a Mokka pot too. We are really pleased to have found a coffee that as well as being Fair Trade, looking after the welfare of workers, it looks after wildlife and birds too. What is not to like about that. We love this organic coffee all the more for its ethics and conservation minded approach. I now drink it black to savour the full complex flavours. The coffee grounds go to the allotment compost bin and the bags become compost holders for handy use to repot houseplants in spring. A winner. Please spread the news.

Finding Bird & Wild led to me researching the environmental impact of coffee production & discovering the importance of shade grown coffee I am so pleased to be buying coffee that is environmentally sustainable and which protects the rain forest for birds & animals.
